Professionals should spend less time making contacts and re-focus their efforts on a strategy of building relationships. \n\n \n\nWe?ve all heard the expression\, ?Its not what you know but who you know\,? but ideally\, the statement should really be\, ?Its not what you know but who you know well.? Those whom you know well\, have built trust with\, or have a good overall relationship with are more likely to do business with you\, recommend you for a job\, introduce you to their contacts\, and/or be a reference for you. \n\n \n\nAttend this session to learn:\n\n\n	The difference between networking and relationship building\n	Principles behind building professional relationships\n	Tactics for improved networking and relationship building outcomes\n	What not to do when networking\n\n About Our Speaker:\n\n\n\nRyan Evans joined the Utah Solar Energy Association (USEA) in July of 2016 and serves as its president. In his role\, Ryan provides leadership\, direction and management for all aspects of USEA activities and is responsible for seeing that the strategic initiatives and policies of the Board of Directors are effectively implemented.  Specifically\, Ryan leads USEA?s strategic planning\, internal and external relations\, advocacy & public policy\, and business development. Ryan also serves as a spokesperson for the solar industry.\n\n \n\nPrior to joining USEA\, Ryan spent thirteen years as an executive with the Salt Lake Chamber\, Utah?s largest business association.  At the Chamber\, Ryan was responsible for community development initiatives\, building collaborative relationships with other business associations\, and had oversight for several of the Chamber?s affiliate organizations.  Ryan also led economic development and public policy initiatives focused on small business and air quality for the chamber. \n\n \n\nRyan attended the University of Vermont and graduated with a bachelor?s degree in psychology from the University of Utah.\n\n \n\nAdditionally\, Ryan is a Strategic Advisor for Opus Strategy Group and was formerly the co-owner of the Firehouse BBQ Grill and Wasatch Smokin? Company.
