SUMMARY:Women's Leadership: Charting Your Path to Strategic Leadership
DESCRIPTION:This session explores strategies to become a more effective leader.  Focusing on who you are and how you work with others\, you will leave this course with the next steps in your path to become a strategic leader.\n\n\n\nMany individuals eagerly await their chance to be a strategic leader\, envisioning a formal\, high-level position earned after years\, if not decades\, of experience.  This course makes the radically empowering assumption that where-ever you are in your career\, you are already a strategic leader!  We will emphasize critical skills for informal and formal motivation\, managing time constraints\, estimating risk\, and communicating with diverse stakeholders.   You will gain both concrete skills and a shift in your mindset to embrace a role where you motivate and inspire others to take risky\, time-sensitive actions to create value and impact.\n\n\n\nThis course uses examples from different career stages across a variety of industries. This workshop focuses on how to create a viable individual career pathway which both leverages individual resources and exploits emerging opportunities.   We follow a proven process based on strategic leadership concepts.  To ensure high value for time\, we engage in hands on exercises and discuss short case examples in each segment of the program.\n\n\n\nIn this program\, you will:\n\n\n\n- Learn to re-frame challenges and opportunities\n\n- Begin to influence others regardless of your level of authority\n\n- Envision your potential in alternate futures\n\n- Find your voice and mobilize your networks\n\n- Learn how to find your next step and chart your path\n\n\n\nTaught By: Heidi Herrick

LOCATION:All women's leadership courses will be held in a hybrid format: 1 day of material will be online pre-recorded lecture. 1 day of material will be live on campus. Attendance via Zoom is also available if preferred.
