Comprehensive Webinar on Utah's Opportunity Zones

The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) invites you to participate in an upcoming webinar focused on Utah's Opportunity Zones. Over the next several months, GOED will work to designate zones for investment across the state. Before registering, please confirm you have an eligible census tract in your area.

To accommodate different schedules, we are offering two virtual sessions. Please select the date that works best for you:

• Tuesday, May 12, 2026
• Thursday, May 14, 2026

Both webinars will be hosted on Zoom from 12-1:30 p.m.

We encourage you to share this invitation with other community leaders, economic development partners, or stakeholders in your region who may have a vested interest in these designations.
 
During the webinar, our team will provide a comprehensive overview of how these Opportunity Zones will be selected and how you can get involved. Topics will include:

• An introduction to Opportunity Zones and their purpose
• Census tract and maps overview
• Data-driven approach to Zone designation
• Overview of survey process

After the presentation, we will share a Qualtrics survey link. This survey will gather local economic narratives that will be considered alongside the data-driven selection process, as outlined on Utah's Opportunity Zone webpage.
