InnovateHER Business Challenge- DEADLINE EXTENDED!
Building on the success of the SBA’s inaugural 2015 InnovateHER Business Challenge, which we piloted in early 2015, Administrator Contreras-Sweet and the Office of Women’s Business Ownership are pleased to announce the launch of the SBA’s InnovateHER 2016: Innovating for Women Business Challenge.
The InnovateHER Challenge is a national prize competition aimed at unearthing products and services that impact and empower the lives of women and families through local business competitions that culminate in a live pitch Final Round. During the InnovateHER Finals, up to 10 Finalists will compete for the Top Three cash prizes totaling $70,000 provided by Microsoft.
Prize for Winners:
Cash prizes totaling $70,000 will be awarded to the three highest-rated contestants in the final round of the Challenge in the following amounts:
- 1st Place - $40,000
- 2nd Place - $20,000
- 3rd Place - $10,000
Applicants do not need to be women-owned. The InnovateHER Challenge provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase products and services that:
- Have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families
- Have the potential for commercialization
- Fill a need in the marketplace

Time line:
- Thursday, November 12, 2015: EXTENDED deadline for Applications to be submitted to innovateHER@slchamber.com
- Thursday, November 19, 2015: live pitches in Salt Lake City
- Thursday, December 3, 2015: the name of local winner submitted to the SBA that will select 10 finalist
- Thursday, March 17, 2016: finalists will travel to the Washington D.C. for the final live pitch
