When life gets hectic, the first thing many of us sacrifice is self care. Self care is crucial to be high functioning and effective at home and in the work place. Unfortunately, when we're busy or stressed, it's common for that to be the first thing to go. How does one manage a busy life and stay positive, happy, and resilient?
Come join the discussion around why it’s important to maintain wellness and learn what we can do to better take care of ourselves every day.
Also, our Non-Profit Spotlight is Salt Lake County Animal Services. We will be collecting pet supplies for the their organization. Please bring one of the following to the luncheon:
Amy Locke is Co-Director of the University of Utah Health Resiliency Center, Associate Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine and works in the Office of Wellness and Integrative Health. Her research, educational, and clinical interests center around professional burnout, health behavior change, and prevention of disease through lifestyle. She co-directs a interdisciplinary Culinary Medicine course and leads a Health Promotion and Integrative Health track for medical students. She is the former Director of Integrative Medicine and Integrative Medicine Fellowship Director at the University of Michigan. She serves on the board of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. She strives to increase education around wellness and integrative health topics both locally and nationally with a goal of increased access to services and a shift towards prevention and health in conventional medicine.
