Presentation:
We all wear many hats - business owner, mom, wife, etc. How do we navigate these roles successfully and find joy in our lives? It's all about integrating all the different facets of our life together to create one seamless motion. We can go through life waiting for life to happen to us and reacting as it comes, or we can be mindful of our lives and choose our own futures by responding rather than reacting to life. By deciding what drives us and how to prioritize, we will know how to better give and take in our lives to create a life that is fulfilling and meaningful.
We'll know when to do the dishes, and when to let them sit in the sink so we can play with our little one. We'll know when to skip that work meeting to watch our teen's basketball game. We will be able to let go of that mom-guilt when we have to work late because we know there will be other mornings that we will sleep in with our kids by our side. Life is meant to be enjoyed. Please join us for this luncheon to learn skills on how to balance your work life with your family life.

About the Presenter:
May Anderson, Founder, Working Mom's Connection
Maicah A. Anderson, PE (Also known as May) was raised in a small town in Nevada of approximately 1000 people. There were only 36 kids in her high school graduating class. She graduated as Valedictorian and believed she could take on the world. She went to school at Southern Utah University where she majored in Engineering. She met her husband in her first year of school and they were married two years later. After she graduated, she started her career at the age of 22 with the Utah Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. When she became a Mother at 25, her world was turned upside down. For the first time in her life, she felt truly lost and fell into a depression because of the difficulty in balancing home-life and work-life. She felt isolated and alone because none of her friends were working moms. When looking online for resources, she was surprised by the lack of guidance and support available. This was when she felt inspired to create Working Moms Connection, a non-profit for working moms. After many sleepless nights, lots of collaboration with the other founders, and generous donations, Working Moms Connection was able to come to fruition, hosting it's first ever in-person event this past June. May served as Executive Director of WMC for 1.5 years. She has spent the last 2 years studying the needs of Working Moms and coming up with viable, actionable, solutions for Working Moms and their employers. Today, she successfully balances being the chairman of the Board of Directors of Working Moms Connection, working full-time as an Engineer for Avenue Consultants, taking care of her family, and taking care of herself.
Non-Profit Spotlight:
Working Mom's Connection is a nonprofit founded in November 2017.
