Business Women's Forum 2019: 10/15 Embody the Intangibles (Breakfast)

Presentation:
Organizations consistently drive the importance of experience and technical skills, but what about the soft skills – the intangibles? Your resume and expertise you bring to the table are what you get the interview, but the intangibles are what get you the job and help you and your team excel. Soft skills are defined by the Oxford Dictionary as personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively and harmoniously with other people. Whether you are an emerging careerist or seasoned professional, the intangibles matter more today as we find ourselves in an ever-changing workforce demographic. Our workforce today is diverse in a multitude of ways including: age, gender, cultural upbringing, socioeconomic status, etc. This makes it critical for leaders and teams to strive to continually develop and embody the intangibles in order for all to rise, serve, and evolve.
