Business Women's Forum 2021: 06/15 Finding Your True North

Registration is closed. Please join us at our next forum on July 20: Building Communities Based on Trust and Self-Reliance.

The term True North is generally meant to depict a direction. It gives you a point where you can orient, and plan how to get from point A to point B. The same can be said of finding a True North in your career. What makes you feel alive? What gives you a feeling of being especially effective and fulfilled? Oftentimes, these instances are where you are traveling in harmony with your True North. In this session, Lyndsy Blonquist will take you through a process to figure out how to identify your True North and become the leader you were always meant to be. Please join us in person on June 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City Downtown. We will be practicing various social distancing options and following all CDC guidelines.

NON-PROFIT SPOTLIGHT:
EyeCare4Kids™ is a global 501(c)(3) nonprofit, headquartered in Midvale.  Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021, EyeCare4Kids™ has provided nearly 400,000 visually impaired children from low-income and underserved families with vision screenings, professional eye exams, and new prescription eyeglasses at minimal or no cost.  And the need is staggering:
  • 1 in 4 youth in the U.S. have vision deficiencies; that number increases to 40% for individuals in poverty.
  • 80% of learning during a child’s first 12 years occurs through the eyes.
  • Uninsured children are three times more likely to go without eyeglasses in favor of other necessities.
The organization operates clinics in four states:  Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Jersey.  They also have three SEE-MORE Mobile Vision Clinics that travel around Utah, Nevada, and Arizona bringing the eye care closer to the kids who need it. For more information about EyeCare4Kids™ or to contribute to Sight The World, their new campaign with the goal of serving 1 million more children by 2025, visit their websites at EyeCare4Kids.org or SightTheWorld.org.
