Canyons School District, Hillcrest High School, Savage, United Way of Salt Lake (UWSL), and UWSL’s Promise Partnership Regional Council have joined forces to develop a framework for the Savage-Hillcrest Impact Network for Education (SHINE), a community resource and education partnership.
One of the foundational components of the partnership is the CTE Pathways
Program Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways are designed to prepare students for post-secondary success by providing real-world, career-relevant experiences before high school graduation. We need your help to establish and support CTE Pathways at Hillcrest High School.
Pathways include Business Management and Accounting (currently at Hillcrest) and Transportation Technology (new to Hillcrest). Savage provided a legacy investment to build the CTE program infrastructure, incentive funding to help teachers obtain the required certifications, job shadowing opportunities, and the possibility of internships, mentoring, and other similar support for students in the CTE programs.
Hillcrest and Canyons School Districts will run the programs at the school. UWSL will act as a facilitator; coordinating the efforts of involved parties. The SHINE partnership is seeking additional funding and support from industry partners.
