Impact Suite™ and the Malouf Foundation™ are releasing a digital app called Raise—a free parenting resource for navigating today’s challenging digital landscape. To officially introduce Raise, Impact Suite™ and the Malouf Foundation™ will hold a digital safety conference on Tuesday, October 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Show Barn at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
During the event, attendees will hear from parenting specialists, law enforcement, and scholars well-versed in parenting and internet safety. These speakers include Ralphie Jacobs on “Nurturing Parent-Child Relationships,” Andrea Davis on “Managing Screen-Time Balance,” Smith Alley on “Navigating Inappropriate Content,” Dr. Sameer Hinduja on “Confronting Cyberbullying,” and Detective Jason Weis on “Protecting Against Online Predators.”
The Raise App addresses parents’ pressing questions, like “When should my child get a smartphone?” and, “How do I protect my child from inappropriate content?” The app easily guides parents through a series of lessons, which have been developed by parenting experts, with activities based on main areas of concern: nurturing parent-child relationships, managing screen-time balance, navigating inappropriate content, confronting cyberbullying, and protecting against online predators. Through Raise, users can also complete weekly check-ins and connect with other parents for support.
