The Utah Center for Global Talent & New Americans of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity cordially invites you to join an open dialogue opportunity with the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) Ombudsman to share your concerns and identify issues with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) programs and processes.
The CIS Ombudsman was created by the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to serve as a liaison between the public and USCIS. CIS hosts meetings to hear concerns and identify issues with USCIS programs and processing. CIS uses this input to make recommendations to USCIS on how to fix systemic problems and improve its services. CIS is an independent office in the Department of Homeland Security and is not part of USCIS; therefore, CIS cannot approve or deny cases or provide legal advice.
This dialogue will be facilitated by Dr. Krista Tacey [biography], the Office of Citizenship & Immigration Services Ombudsman’s regional representative for the Central Region.
