Going Global - Ready or Not: Media Management in a Competitive World with Bill Nixon
Mastering Media Management
Salt Lake Chamber
Professional Communications Seminar Series
Whether you're a communications professional or corporate executive, effective media management is essential for success in today's competitive world. The Salt Lake Chamber is offering four workshops on Mastering Media Management to help individuals bring together innate talents, formal training and real-world experiences to master effective communications.
In business and politics the old adage that words matter needs an update to "every word matters", particularly when social media has turned that smartphone in your pocket into a global stage. Never before have the stakes been so high. The right word at the right time can turn a brand into a movement, bring a successful conclusion to a crisis, or build an appreciative audience for your message. A thoughtless or even unintended word can destroy a reputation, cause miscommunication, or worse yet, leave you completely ignored.
In the first workshop of a four-part series on "Mastering Media Management", the Salt Lake Chamber will present will include:
- Effective Strategic Communications Strategy and Message Development
- Building a Personal and Corporate Brand
- Media Management Under Pressure
- Mastering Stage Presence
- Live and On-Camera Training
From managing press relations and on-camera interviews to building powerful social networks and paid marketing strategies, media opportunities and potential audiences have never been so large and diverse, the opportunities never so great, and the stakes never so high.
