The Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program is a new and unique financing option for renewable energy projects on commercial properties. Hunt Electric is using this program to build a solar canopy and electric car charging station with no upfront costs. The project is cash flow positive from day one and will offset 100% of their electrical usage. Additionally, West Valley City teamed up with Hunt Electric to become the first municipality in Utah to implement this new alternative financing tool.
 
This pilot project was made possible through a dynamic partnership with West Valley City, Hunt Electric, Celtic Bank, Lewis, Young, Robertson & Burningham Inc., Ballard Spahr, First Utah Bank, the Governor’s Office of Energy Development, and Utah Clean Energy.
