Innovation for Employer Sponsored Health Care



Employers play a vital role in the purchasing of healthcare services. With the ongoing implementation of the Affordable Care Act, businesses remain challenged with understanding all of their options and many are facing significant cost increases with providing healthcare to their employees. At this forum, the Salt Lake Chamber in partnership with Avenue H will discuss strategic innovations and disruptions in the health care marketplace and ways employers can manage the cost of providing employee benefits.

Andrew Croshaw is president of Leavitt Partners Consulting where he oversees the delivery of consulting services to clients across the country. In this role, Andrew also advises clients as they enter new markets, enhance the value of their products, and navigate dynamic regulatory and reimbursement systems.

H. Eric Cannon is chief of Pharmacy for SelectHealth, an Intermountain Healthcare company and has responsibility for SelectHealth Prescriptions, a full-service pharmacy benefit management group. Dr. Cannon works to develop, implement and administer many first-of-their-kind programs that improve clinical quality, control costs and optimize outcomes in the Intermountain system

Patty Conner
Director, Utah Office Consumer Health Services
Patty Conner is the Director of Office of Consumer Health Services (OCHS) under the Governor's Office of Economic Development. OCHS is responsible for the development and management of Avenue H. Avenue H is one of the first public health insurance marketplaces to operate in the country.  

Chris Dahl
Practice Leader Employee Benefits, The Buckner Company
Chris Dahl joined The Buckner Company in July 2010. Chris focuses on large group employee benefits sales. His goal is to help clients find the right coverage for the best prices, and to help them keep costs and claims down.

Nate Gladwell
RN, MHA, Director, of TeleHealth and TeleMedicine
As an ED and ICU nurse, Nate developed a passion for the human elements of healthcare. Desiring to develop and improve systems to extend human potential, Nate pursued a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. Graduating with honors he successfully completed an Administrative Fellowship with the CEO of University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics.

Donna Milavetz
M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P., President & CEO, OnSite Care
After 20 years of practicing internal medicine, Dr. Milavetz recognized how truly broken our healthcare system was. The traditional fee-for-service model of healthcare was driving up costs, reducing the quality of care and leaving both patients and doctors dissatisfied. Dr. Milavetz knew she could generate better health outcomes for patients with greater savings for employers using a model that places real value on primary care.

Norm Thurston
Director, Office of Health Care Statistics, Utah Dept. of Health
Dr. Thurston has been a policy analyst and health economist for the Utah Department of Health for the past twelve years. Currently, he is the Director of the Office of Health Care Statistics, responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data related to health care cost and quality for the State of Utah.
