The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute announces its next Newsmaker Breakfast, a monthly event highlighting important issues impacting Utahns.
Salt Lake City serves as the foremost and flourishing center for commerce, sports, entertainment, culture, and education in the Mountain West. In the next decade, Utah’s capital city will continue to expand its economic footprint and may secure one or even two new professional sports franchises. Utah decision-makers are currently working to plan for these potential enterprises, while simultaneously planning for the state’s growing population.
Join business leaders and policymakers as they discuss the status of bids to bring new professional sports franchises to Utah following the 2024 General Legislative Session, the economic contribution of new professional teams, and what the next steps will be to fund, plan, and operate National Hockey League and Major League Baseball organizations in Salt Lake City.
The conversation will be moderated by Gardner Institute Director Natalie Gochnour. Media are invited to attend and ask questions.
