As a member of the EU, Belgium has a very frictionless trade relationship with the United States. Because of Belgium’s anti-protectionist business environment and hospitable investment climate many US companies have established their European headquarters in Belgium. Major U.S. industries and investments in Belgium include the chemical sector, automotive assembly, and pharmaceutical sectors.
