Description

QuickBooks Basics for the Financially Challenged

Do numbers and finances put you into a tizzy and scare you to death? It doesn’t have to be that way!

QuickBooks is a widely used computerized accounting system that can make taking care of the financial end of your business an easy task. However, just because you don’t have to be an accountant to use QBs, you will need to understand just a few accounting basics in order to make sure your books give you the correct information for you to operate your business, keep track of the records you will need, and to produce the reports necessary to manage and grow your business.

In this workshop we will painlessly walk you through the accounting basic concepts and simple transactions using QuickBooks software. We will walk you through hands on exercises, so bring your computer and QuickBooks software to practice the basics of using QBs to manage your business.

Topics:

Review of Basic Accounting Requirements

Set up your company

Set up your Chart of Accounts

Set up opening balances

Enter transactions

Reconcile

Manage lists: Customers, Vendors

Reports: P&L, Balance Sheet
