Statewide Read-a-Thon

Governor and First Lady Cox invite Utahns of all ages to participate in a statewide Read-a-Thon on Friday, October 2, 2026!

You are invited to join them at the State Capitol to participate in this statewide event. Families are welcome, so please feel free to bring your children and share the invitation with others who may want to join in person.

Arrival: 9:00 a.m.
Kickoff: 9:30 a.m.
Event concludes: 10:30 a.m.

Feel free to bring a blanket, small stuffed animal, snack, and water.

We would love to have you join us for a fun morning of reading at the Capitol!

If you are not able to participate in person, help your company or organization make time to join at the office. This isn't just for students - families, schools, libraries, businesses and communities across Utah are encouraged to participate as well.

The challenge is simple: find a book and read. There's no right way to participate. Give one hour to your employees to get lost in a book at their desks, or go old-school and bring snacks to share in your common space. No matter what it looks like, you can help build a culture of reading in Utah that will benefit everyone.
