University of Utah PROED 403 Teams of Trust and Collaboration Organizations frequently talk of teams; most organizations are designed to foster groups. This course will examine the differences between these two concepts, and identify philosophies and actions required to create and sustain high-performing teams. Participants will do a baseline assessment of their current team's competency in specific team-success areas and develop an action plan to increase the team's effectiveness and potential. Some of the objective covered in this course will include How to identify the difference between a group and a team and how an organization gets what it asks for, not necessarily what it wants. The characteristics of high-performing teams and ways the organization's structure, processes and culture undermine team effectiveness will also be discussed. You will also learn the state of team development and the leader's role at each stage and how to develop an action plan to increase team effectiveness.
