In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, the Utah Chamber and Salt Lake Chamber will host a Utah Rising Webinar on September 10, 2026, focused on mental health resources and suicide prevention in the workplace.
Mental health and well-being are essential to a strong, resilient workforce. Employers and business leaders can play an important role in creating supportive workplaces, recognizing when an employee may need help and connecting individuals with appropriate resources.
This webinar will provide employers with practical information and resources to help strengthen mental health and suicide prevention efforts in the workplace. Attendees will learn more about recognizing potential warning signs, navigating conversations around mental health and connecting employees with available support and resources. The conversation will also explore how organizations can foster workplace cultures where employees feel supported and comfortable seeking help

About Our Panel:
Brandon Callor, MSW, CSW, CPM
Brandon Callor calls himself the coping strategist. As a program manager for the state of Utah, he sees himself as a change agent. He has worked for the Office of the Medical Examiner for over 25 years effectively implementing systems that are flexible enough to evolve with changing legislation but rigorous enough to maintain efficiency and consistency.
Callor published a book, Life After Suicide: The Impact of Suicide on the Ones Left Behind, where he depicted the various pathways to healing that he and his family experienced after they lost loved ones to suicide. Callor and his wife, Katy, are co-founders of an organization called Links of Courage, with a two-fold mission to help people through the grieving process of losing a loved one to suicide and to make an impact large enough to prevent suicide in Utah’s youth population. He volunteers with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and currently serves as president of the board of directors and co-chair of the public policy committee.
Dr. Eric T. Monson, MD, PhD
Dr. Eric Monson is an assistant professor at the University of Utah in the department of Psychiatry. He received his medical training at the University of Iowa, earning simultaneous degrees in medicine and in genetics, with a focus on research in serious psychiatric disorders and suicidal behavior. Since moving to Utah in 2018, he has refined his research focus to the intersection of psychological trauma exposure and risk for suicide death, particularly in youth and young adults. Alongside research, he maintains an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry clinic in Davis County with a focus on working with individuals with traumatic exposures and is the medical director for the Zero Suicide program at the University of Utah. He is also married and has three kids, aged 11 to 17, who all ensure that his life never gets too boring.
About Our Moderator:
Ally Isom, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Clyde Companies, Inc.
Ally Isom is a community leader and strategist where brand, policy and public engagement intersect. Isom is the chief corporate affairs officer for Clyde Companies. Previously, she was an executive in nanotech, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, head of global branding and messaging for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Utah Governor’s deputy chief of staff and a state agency leader.
Isom also has broad civic experience with numerous boards and commissions. She is the Utah Behavioral Health Commission chair, a Weber State University Trustee, a Primary Children’s Hospital Board member, Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors and policy chair and an Enbridge Gas Utah Advisory Council member. Isom holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.
She and her husband have four children and six grandchildren. When she finds free time, she relishes historical fiction and biographies, preferably on a beach, and mole poblano, pretty much anywhere.
