On April 12, 1875, a small group of students assembled at the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City to form the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute, the educational institution that would grow to become Westminster University.

In the 150 years since its founding, Westminster has continued as a cornerstone of academic excellence in the Intermountain West, championing comprehensive liberal arts education and fostering lifelong learning in its students.

Join us on campus to celebrate Westminster's 150th anniversary with a light lunch, birthday cake, and remarks from President Dobkin and ASW President Quincy Stewart. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall will be in attendance to proclaim April 10th Westminster Day in Salt Lake City.

Alumni, community members, parents, students, faculty, and staff are all invited to join us in celebrating Westminster's impact.

Sesquicentennial Time Capsule

Share your memories and pen
a love letter to Westminster

As part of our sesquicentennial celebrations on April 10, we're dedicating a time capsule to capture a snapshot of Westminster at 150 years old—and we want to include you!

Whether you want to honor the past, celebrate the present, or look forward to the future, there's room for your memories in Westminster's digital time capsule. Submit favorite photos with friends, stories of your time on campus, or pictures of your priceless Westminster memorabilia. Write your love letter to Westminster: tell us what Westminster means to you and what you hope the future will bring.

Digital submissions will be downloaded and included in the physical time capsule to be opened at Westminster's 200th anniversary in 2075. If you participated in our Oral History Project last year, don't worry—those stories will be included!

All submissions are subject to review for inclusion. By submitting to the digital time capsule, you permit Westminster to use images as part of our sesquicentennial celebration.
