Women in Business Month Contest

We are recognizing women-owned businesses throughout Utah and southern Idaho.

October is National Women’s Small Business Month. Help us increase awareness of local women-owned businesses by participating in our social media contest or inviting your friends to enter!

What is it?

A written or video essay contest and social media engagement contest.

Why are we doing it?

To promote awareness of women-owned businesses and increase engagement on women-owned businesses’ social media platforms.

What is the prize?

One winner from each of the seven categories will receive:

$1,000 donation in the winner’s name to the charity of their choice

AND one Grand Prize Winner will also receive:

$500 to use toward their business

Social Media Consultation

How do you participate?

This contest has two parts. Enter part one to participate in the essay/video contest and enter part two to participate in the social media contest.

Part One

We’re looking for businesses that have demonstrated three main themes:

Integrity: Why did you start or get involved with your business? What makes your business, product(s), or service(s) unique from others in your industry?
Innovation: How have you positively impacted the local community or the lives of your customers?
Financial Growth or Stability: How have you grown (or maintained) your business throughout the last 18-months?

Write out your answers to these questions or create a 90-second video and submit your entry via our online form. You can choose to enter one of seven different categories including: Business & Consulting; Entertainment; Food & Restaurants; Health & Personal Care; Non-Profit; Retail; and Other.

Written and video essays will be judged by a panel of women business leaders in the community. Together they will choose one winner from each category and one grand prize winner. All entries are due by September 30 at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Part Two

Get involved with local businesses by participating in a “Play for Points” social media contest!

We’ll be highlighting women-owned businesses each week in October. Every week we’ll have a new set of challenges (or actions) that involve interacting with other women-owned businesses on social media. At the beginning of each week, you’ll receive a list of post suggestions that you can share with your followers.

Your followers will get points for each action they complete and will be entered to win a $25 Amazon gift card.

We’ll choose 5 winners each week for a total of 20 winners!
