Many people are surprised to learn that 75% of all suicide deaths in Utah are working aged adults. Suicide impacts employers, individuals, families and entire communities.
The Utah Suicide Prevention Coalition is offering a FREE 4-hour workshop and luncheon on Friday, June 10 at 9 a.m. on how employers can effect cultural change in the workplace concerning mental health promotion and suicide prevention. Two internationally known speakers will head the workshop. Sally Spencer Thomas, Ph.D. will present the Working Minds ™ model for suicide prevention in the workplace. Lt. General (retired) Mark Graham will share his experiences of losing his son to suicide and his own need for mental health care after family tragedy where seeking such care in the military can be stigmatizing. More information on Working Minds™ and Lt. Gen. Graham can be found at http://www.workingminds.org/ and http://www.parsonscompanyinc.com/speakers/genmarkcarolgraham.html.
You and other leaders in your place of work or department are invited to join the conversation!! Please see the flyer below anf register by June 1 (or until event is full) at http://goo.gl/forms/5LBZU2tvQm.
