Alex Adema is the COO of DPS Skis, managing daily operations of the young, growing company, headquartered here in Salt Lake City. DPS Skis designs and manufactures the world’s most advanced skis. DPS is a key contributor to the Outdoor Recreation Economy in Utah with an ever growing global reach. Alex earned his bachelor's degree in Economics & Business from Colorado College in 2000, where he also played Varsity Lacrosse. In 2012, he completed the Executive MBA program at The University of Buffalo (SUNY). In 2014, Alex participated in the Leadership Buffalo (NY) program, a sister program to Leadership Utah. Alex enjoys skiing and spending time outdoors with his wife and four children. He moved from Buffalo, New York in 2015. Although he loves his new hometown, he remains a devout Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan! Alex is an active member of his church, volunteering and serving as a deacon.

Jesse Allen is a Principal at GSBS Architects. He is a licensed Architect and Landscape Architect. He has worked on a variety of public and private projects, most notably the Regent Street Improvement Project, the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building, the Natural History Museum of Utah, and an elementary school for a non-profit outside of Kigali, Rwanda. Jesse earned his Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from Utah State University in 2004 and his Masters of Architecture from University of Utah in 2007. Jesse enjoys backcountry skiing, running, mountain biking, and watching and coaching (sometimes playing) soccer.
GREENbike, Operations Manager
Cameron Arellano is the Operations Manager for GREENbike, SLC's non-profit bike share program. He has been with the GREENbike program since its inception in 2013. The focus of GREENbike is to get people out of cars and on bikes to help decrease air pollution, decrease city congestion and increase active transportation within the community. Cameron earned his bachelor's of science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies with a minor in Geography from the University of Utah. During his senior year in college, he interned with GREENbike and was quickly hired to a full-time position. He likes to live an extremely active lifestyle. Some of his hobbies include mountain biking, hiking, basketball, snowboarding, trail running, softball, resistance training, camping and anything else that involves the great outdoors. Cameron is from the Bay Area so he also enjoys watching the Warriors, Giants and 49ers play although the Jazz are still his favorite team.

JD Ashby is the VP of claims for WCF Insurance. He manages the company's subrogation, medical management, and special investigations departments. He also oversees the claims department's data-analytics efforts. JD formerly worked for ten years in WCF's legal department and three years in HR. JD earned his bachelor's degree in organizational communication from the University of Utah and his law degree from the University of Utah SJ Quinney College of Law. During law school, he worked as a clerk for WCF's legal department and a graduate assistant in the University of Utah athletic department. JD enjoys spending time with his wife and three young daughters. They plan all activities around the Utah Jazz schedule. JD and a colleague have also developed interactive workshops that teach effective business writing and effective presentation skills. They deliver those workshops to various companies and other groups.

Marisa Bomis is the director of marketing & communication for the Salt Lake Chamber. She is responsible for managing digital content the Chamber produces, including the website, social media channels, and external communications. In addition to developing marketing campaigns and communication strategies of the Chamber. Marisa has a bachelor's in Marketing, and Finance from the University of Utah. Marisa is also a strong supporter of the arts community, she volunteers for the Salt Lake Film Society, Sundance Film Festival and Utah Arts Festival, and is always looking for new opportunities where she can get involved. Laura is the Director of the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities. As Director, she is responsible for ensuring the supply of clean, reliable drinking water to 350,000 people in the Salt Lake Valley, and the management of stormwater, wastewater, and street lights throughout Salt Lake City. Laura earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She earned her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Utah. While at the University of Utah, Laura and her team won first place in a national Policy Challenge exploring problems and solutions related to youth unemployment. In her free time, Laura enjoys running, hiking, and riding her bike through the Wasatch Mountains. She and her husband and two children (ages 8 and 10) love to explore the outdoors together throughout Utah and the country, raise chickens for fresh eggs, grow vegetables, and cook healthy meals.

Scott Brown is the Director of Local Government Relations for Salt Lake Community College. His focus is working with local elected officials and government entities to find methods for collaboration. Scott earned a bachelor's and master's degree in political science from Utah State University. His experience includes working for US Senator Garn in Washington DC, Utah state government agencies and non-profit health organizations in the government relations field. Scott is married and the father of twin 20-year-old sons and a 14-year-old step-daughter. In his free time, Scott enjoys doing art projects, primarily with wood and metals. He also likes to travel and see new places. His goal is to travel to more international destinations.

Jill Christensen is the AVP, human resources at Workers Compensation Fund Insurance. She manages the day-to-day HR operations, working closely with the senior vice president of HR to manage WCF's organizational structure and HR initiatives. Jill earned her bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Utah and her master's in public administration from Brigham Young University. She completed an internship in Washington DC through the Hinckley Institute of Politics, working for Utah congressman James Hansen. In her free time Jill enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling with her family. She also enjoys running, watching home-remodeling shows, and has recently taken on more home renovation projects than she should. Jill loves to travel anywhere because there is always a crazy and memorable story to tell. Jill is married to Dave Christensen and they have four active, adventurous children.

Dori Clark is a Group Sales Representative at Lagoon. She manages corporate, community events and teambuilding opportunities for groups of any size. This is the beginning of her 16th Season at Lagoon where she has been assistant manager of the Admissions Division (9.5 years) before joining the marketing team. She served on the Davis Chamber Leadership Institute Executive Committee for the last 3 years as vice –chair and was Chair of that committee this past year. Judd Cook is the Director of Business Development for Questar Corporation. He is tasked with finding and developing new revenue generating opportunities for the corporation. His recent efforts have focused on natural gas as a transportation fuel in the heavy-duty trucking market. He has worked with some of the biggest trucking companies in the U.S. to ease their transition to natural gas. Judd earned his undergraduate and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Weber State University, where he was awarded the Goddard Scholar award for academic excellence. Judd enjoys snowboarding in the winter and wakesurfing in the summer. He spends much of his free time watching his kids play sports.

Jamie has over ten years nonprofit, development, and social service experience with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Utah State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her passion for increasing the health and wellness of all people in our community drives her personal and professional life and having experienced vision issues in her family, she knows firsthand the importance of early detection and intervention. At four years old, her son was diagnosed with strabismic amblyopia, a condition where complete vision loss can occur without adequate treatment and in his case, sight saving surgery. Jamie believes every child should have regular vision screenings, access to eye exams, correct prescription glasses, and reliable follow up care.

Deborah Ehrman is Deputy Director for the Salt Lake City Library. She has worked for the Library since 1985 in a variety of departments and branches. The most recent project that she completed for the Library is the Marmalade Branch in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Salt Lake City. She is a member of the Library's Executive Leadership Team which oversees a system staff of 191 FTE, $18 M budget and is overseen by a policy board. She is a member of Salt Lake City's Capital City Education Alliance Team that includes representatives from the city, the school district and higher education. Deborah received her BA in English from Wilmington College, Wilmington OH and completed a Master's in Library Science in 2001 from Emporia State University, KS through a distance program cohort. Deborah has four grown sons and her husband is a Teacher Librarian in the Salt Lake School District. She enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and attending local arts programs.

Zenia Frendt is a Leadership Giving Director at United Way of Salt Lake. Zenia is the Director of UWSL's Women's Leadership Council, which focuses specifically on education efforts for at-risk girls and young women. Her position includes major gift fundraising, organizing and executing various volunteer projects, and coordinating networking and social events. Zenia is a graduate of Colby College, one of the top liberal arts schools in the country, where she earned a BA in International Affairs and a BA in Cultural Anthropology. She also graduated from the School of International Training in Rabat, Morocco, where she studied politics, government, and religion. Zenia loves to travel and is fluent in French and Portuguese. Kathleen Fueston has been a Human Resource professional for 29 years working in many various industries including running her own HR consulting business. Kathleen earned her bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development from Brigham Young University and her master's degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Servant Leadership from Gonzaga University. Bryce Harding is the sales manager for the Western Region for Delta Stone Products based in Heber City, Utah. He has had experience in many industries over the course of his career. Lacey Holmes has been with American Express since 2014 and serves as the Public Affairs and Communications Coordinator for the American Express Service Center located in Salt Lake City. Lacey graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in public relations and political science. Valkyrie Johnson is the online coordinator for the Salt Lake Chamber Women's Business Center (WBC). She built the WBC's new website and helped plan, organize, and launch online training for women throughout the entire state of Utah. Valkyrie has a B.A. in Mass Communication from the University of Utah and an associate degree in Graphic Design. She also has a certificate in Event and Meeting Planning and loves taking additional classes on subjects she is interested in whenever she has time. Outside of work, Valkyrie is an artist with an emphasis on children’s book illustrations. She has been drawing a sketch every day since January 16, 2015. She loves going to fairs and festivals and is an expert at finding fun, inexpensive things to do.

Chamonix Larsen coordinates the operational government efforts of the State of Utah to identify and implement best practices and stewardship measures to improve air quality. The State of Utah is an organization with over 20,000 employees and various agencies that serve Utah citizens. Chamonix Larsen is a licensed architect in the State of Utah, and has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Utah. She has worked in both public agencies and private architectural firms, and has focused her career developing skills related to improving human and environmental health. Chamonix enjoys teaching her sons to explore the outdoors. As a lifelong Utah skier, she spends many hours in the mountains and can't remember a winter before she learned to ski. She also enjoys painting with acrylics, and cooking without a recipe.

With his eyes and ears to the street of downtown, Ryan Mack is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Downtown Alliance. He manages social media accounts for the DTA, GREENbike and the Farmers Market. Ryan also manages websites for the DTA umbrella and is a contributor to Downtown the Magazine. Ryan has a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah in Political Science with a marketing minor. When he's not downtown, you can find Ryan mountain biking and skiing in the Wasatch backcountry.

Mike manages a team of 23 outside community relations managers,, spread out across the country. this team primary role is to build substantial partnerships, with companies that value education. Mike also engages large companies (i.e. Zions Bancorp), to build synergistic relationships and plans to meet the companies employee educational development goals. Mike earned an associates degree in general studies and went on to complete a bachelors in Business Management. Mike has continued on to finish an MBA with Western Governors university in 2011. Maybell was educated in Scotland and England and after graduating from high school was appointed as a Police Constable in the Lincolnshire Police Force, England. Jim Murray is a Director of Government programs with SelectHealth. Chris Nelson is the Executive Director of the University of Utah Hospital Foundation. He has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, PR/communication and fundraising. The goal of the Foundation is to build community and philanthropic support for the University's flagship hospital. Jason is a coach for his son's Brighton Lacrosse team and is very supportive of his daughters commitment to the Brighton High School Accadians. Jason and his wife Aimee love to travel and hike in our Utah mountains.

Artemis Vamianakis is a shareholder at Fabian VanCott. Artemis practices complex commercial litigation, energy and natural resources, and employment law. She represents clients in disputes involving breach of contract, torts, easements, mechanic’s liens, water rights, oil and gas disputes, permitting, wrongful termination, discrimination and other areas. Artemis received her law degree from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she graduated with honors and won awards and scholarships while holding the position of Executive Director of the Global Justice Think Tank and completing an externship for Utah Supreme Court Justice Matthew Durrant. She earned an honors bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from the University of Utah. In her free time, Artemis is active in the local Greek community in Salt Lake City, enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and cooking and traveling together.

Heather Wall is the Administrator for LDS Hospital. Heather earned her bachelor's in Business Management from Brigham Young University and her Masters of Business Administration from Arizona State University. In her free time, Heather loves to be outdoors. She loves to ski, hike and watch little league baseball. She loves being with and traveling with her husband, Ben, and her three little boys.

Cynthia Washington is the Branch Manager for America First Credit Union at City Creek. Her branch has been recognized with awards in both service and sales. She focuses upon serving the financial needs of her members and developing her employees to excel in their roles. She is passionate about teamwork and service. Cynthia earned her bachelor's in International Business and Marketing form California Polytechnic University at Pomona. In her free time, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family & friends. She loves to travel and enjoy good food. She de-stresses with a long run, yoga, and/or a good book. She is actively involved with Ballet West both as a donor and as a parent. Her daughter is a dancer in their academy. Cynthia likes to help others at church, within her community and through Junior Achievement.

Steve Wilson is a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for Key Bank. His focus is on working with Middle Market Company's throughout the Utah market, with a target size of $10MM in revenue and up. In December of 2003, Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degreee in Political Science from the University of Utah. In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. The family is involved in many different extra curricular activities that include running, hiking, golf, soccer and voice.

John Pitt coordinates public communication and relationship building efforts between the Salt Lake Chamber and business, non-profit, and government agencies for Prosperity 2020 and Education First Utah with the intent to improve education achievement for all public schools in Utah. John has a BA degree in Communications from the University of Utah as well as a certificate of Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. John’s personal interests also include business development, public relations and community service. He is a member of the Bountiful City Council and serves as the City's Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department Chair. He is the City's Business Liaison. He is an avid cyclist and rides at least 12 miles a day. He is married (to a wonderful public school teacher) and has three children and one grandchild.
