Who We Are WTC Utah’s mission is to connect local companies to global opportunities through our programs, networks, and services. A new and very important part of that is our role leading the state’s Foreign Trade Zone and consulting on supply chain management issues. This small team works with companies in every industry across the state, identifying and delivering opportunities to minimize the cost of tariffs and optimize their supply chains through the various tools available. This includes Foreign Trade Zones, duty drawback, bonded warehouses, etc.
Work You’ll Do As a Director, you’ll use your skills and experience to oversee our offering and provide expertise for World Trade Center Utah’s Sourcing and Supply Chains service to SMEs. This includes:
Act as a leader for a small team managing our FTZ offering.
Directly work with our pipeline of prospects and applicants to assess best opportunities to utilize available tools for international trade optimization.
Maintain and enhance our intellectual capital (e.g., Tariff Dashboard) on tariff and supply chain issues.
As a trainer and internal consultant, provide support (expertise) to Business Advisory colleagues who provide trade consulting services to Utah businesses. Your expertise will be valuable as those services include sourcing and supply chain management such as supplier diversification, logistics optimization, and risk mitigation issues more and more.
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in economics, supply chain management, business, or related disciplines.
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in business-to-business communications and/or strategic consulting to businesses or operational roles in supply chain management
Excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail.
Experience with project management for complex, multi-dimensional projects.
Experience in public speaking and presentation training/and/or delivery.
Experience analyzing businesses, industries, and/or global economic affairs
Proficiency using Excel to analyze data and develop spreadsheets
Knowledge of customs compliance, international trade agreements (e.g., USMCA), or regulatory frameworks governing global trade.
Preferred qualifications
Advanced degree in business administration, marketing, economics or related disciplines.
Direct experience with free or foreign trade zones and bonded warehouses.
Experience with non-profits.
Who You Will Report To
You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer who will set organizational goals and direct the overall strategy of the division.
Your success will be measured based on your ability to onboard companies into the FTZ and act as an internal expert and flywheel to help guide companies exploring changes in their supply chains.
