A native of Britain, Kate came to the United States to pursue graduate education in music performance. Studying at Penn State University and the University of Iowa she completed her terminal degree in 2013. Her side projects included directing a British-style brass band, teaching private music lessons, and even playing over 300 "High School Musical" performances in a single summer. Kate has been with The Salvation Army since 2013 and has led the Salt Lake City Corps (church) for the past year. Together with her husband James, she oversees the ministry, social service programs (including a food pantry, utilities assistance programs, emergency assistance programs, Christmas Angel Tree etc.), community programming, emergency disaster services, and more! She has previously served as a ministry assistant, a youth programs administrator, and a regional music director, in the states of CA, TX, VA, and Washington DC. She is a volunteer coach with People Helping People.
