Diverting Your Food and Green Waste
Wasatch Resource Recovery has just broken ground on its anaerobic digester--a system that diverts post-consumer food and green waste from going to the landfill, and instead converts it to captured biogas and nutrient-rich fertilizer. On Wednesday, August 23rd, the e2 Business Program is hosting a brief, 1-hour breakfast session in which Morgan Bowerman of Wasatch Resource Recovery will be briefing us on how the digester can help divert your business' food and green waste from the landfill--this will be a particualrly interesting session for restaurants. You will learn: What is an anaerobic digester (AD)? What are the logistics of making this work in-house? What kind of businesses will most benefit? Who will be hauling the food waste? What does it cost? What are the benefits of sending food waste to the AD? When can businesses begin having their food waste hauled to the AD? What are the next steps if a business is interested in diverting food waste to the AD?
