Less Networking, More Relationship Building
Networking, at its core, is about making contacts but ultimately it is an approach to fulfill some higher goal of advancing your career, making more money, or positioning yourself for other opportunities. Professionals should spend less time making contacts and re-focus their efforts on a strategy of building relationships.
We?ve all heard the expression, ?Its not what you know but who you know,? but ideally, the statement should really be, ?Its not what you know but who you know well.? Those whom you know well, have built trust with, or have a good overall relationship with are more likely to do business with you, recommend you for a job, introduce you to their contacts, and/or be a reference for you.
Attend this session to learn:
- The difference between networking and relationship building
- Principles behind building professional relationships
- Tactics for improved networking and relationship building outcomes
- What not to do when networking
