Term: Full-time/Seasonal

Compensation: $16.00-$18/Hr.

We are looking for a Summer Teen Youth Leader to support our Service Opportunities, Adventures, and Recreation (SOAR) Program for teens ages 13-15. This program immerses teens in community service, outdoor recreation, and overnight excursions, fostering resilience, leadership, and teamwork. As a Youth Leader, you will work alongside teens to mentor, encourage, and ensure a safe, fun, and enriching summer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and mentor teens in hands-on service projects and recreational activities.
  • Foster leadership, teamwork, and positive communication among youth participants.
  • Supervise and ensure safety during all program activities, including overnight trips.
  • Encourage participation and create an inclusive, welcoming environment.
  • Support planning and implementation of activities alongside the Program Coordinator.
  • Lead outdoor excursions, museum visits, and community engagement projects.
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth by demonstrating responsibility and enthusiasm.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Energetic, responsible, and passionate about working with teens.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and apply experiential education frameworks.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid Utah Driver’s License and ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
  • Higher education in Social Work, Psychology, Recreation, or Education (preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English (preferred).

Schedule & Pay:

  • Part-time preplanning hours in April.
  • Full-time schedule from June through August.
  • Must be available for three overnight excursions.
  • Competitive pay based on experience.
